The people behind Major's Place

Anne-Marie fell in love with horses at a young age and has always embraced the healing power of the equine. As a youth she served as a wrangler at Ride with Pride in Grapevine, Texas and as a collegiate wrangler at Pine Cove in Tyler, Texas. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Missouri and was a licensed elementary school educator in New Orleans, Louisiana before a corporate career in graphic design. She moved to McCloud in 2019 and opened her own marketing consultancy, now a federally recognized Women-Owned Small Business. In 2022, Major came into her life and together they embarked on a profound (and challenging) healing journey — the results of which led to the founding of Major's Place. Anne-Marie is pursuing her Master's Degree in Psychology and will sit for her LMFT certification in 2028. She is a certified Yoga Instructor (MCT) and certified Mindfulness Instructor (Dallas Yoga Institute).

Dee DeLeon is a licensed professional clinical counselor in California, with licensure in Oregon (LPC), Minnesota (LPCC) and as a telehealth provider (TPMC) in Florida. She is certified by the National Board of Certified Counselors and became Eagala Certified in August 2025. Her path to becoming a therapist began as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for underrepresented children and families in Siskiyou County. She worked closely with local Juvenile Justice, Adult Corrections and Probation programs until 2024, providing individual, group and equine-assisted therapy to inmates, probationers, parolees and their families. In 2020 she founded Strawberry Valley Counseling Services in Mt. Shasta, where she continues to serve high-needs clients including veterans, K-12 and college students, and corporate Employee Assistance Programs.

Britt grew up in the hills of Eastern Tennessee. At three years old she was placed on the back of a draft horse and refused to get down — and a lifelong passion began. She received her first horse at age ten and spent the next decade teaching riding and horsemanship, specializing in beginner riders and equine summer camps. Britt has trained under respected professionals including stunt rider Tommy Turvey and Olympic eventing alternate and mustang trainer Elisa Wallace. She received her Eagala Certification as an Equine Specialist in Fall 2025 and is completing degrees in English, Psychology and Creative Writing at College of the Siskiyous. Britt is a passionate advocate for first responder mental health.

Sarah is from Northern Arizona and grew up riding, drawn early to natural horsemanship and equine psychology. In high school she worked for colt starter Ned Leigh before earning her B.S. in Supply Chain Management from Arizona State. She has worked with trainers including Monty Buntin and Ryan Rose and studied with Linda Parelli. Sarah manages the horse training and sale program at Willow Creek Ranch and brings a wealth of equine husbandry and training knowledge to our programs.

Linn is a prominent real estate agent (McCloud Realty) and animal advocate in Siskiyou County, and serves as President of the Siskiyou Humane Society. Her belief in community betterment and providing resources to underserved communities is a passion. Linn has forged a special bond with Clyde and has been instrumental in helping this organization come to fruition. She is a member of our certified Horse Powered Reading® team and looks forward to helping students improve literacy and reading comprehension.
